TheDadHandBook.Com celebrates active fathers who are committed to developing fun, vibrant parenting relationships that result in awesome kids. We exist to encourage dads to make the most of every day with their kids.
TheDadHandBook.Com founder, Jon Sanchez, grew up in the ultimate parenting laboratory; a 6 kid household. Jon graduated from the US Naval Academy, and served as a US Navy SEAL. He deployed overseas with SEAL TEAM 3 as a platoon commander, and won 2 gold medals at the military Olympics. Today, Jon has a successful professional career outside of the home which makes it imperative to enjoy every moment with the kids.
As Jon embarked on the adventure of being a dad, he embraced the transition from the SEAL Teams to suburban fatherhood. He fell in love with his new role in life; yet grew frustrated with the notion that being an exceptional parent requires strong maternal tendencies. Thus came the impetus for TheDadHandBook.Com. Now, as a father of three, Jon has attacked a whole new set of missions, challenges, and victories. Whether he is potty training a two year old, making time to stay in shape, or grocery shopping with 3 young kids, the days are rarely short and never dull.
Jon’s wife, Anya, is a Medical Doctor who also works as a medical consultant. The travel demands of Anya’s career coupled with her office hours have led Jon to take on an extremely active role in the household. Frequently serving as primary caregiver to the children, Jon enjoys the fluctuating balance between the office and home.
Jon reached out to his SEAL team brothers and military friends for ideas on how to thrive as an active dad. TheDadHandBook.Com started as a forum for these warriors, and has now grown to include dads around the world sharing their stories and views.
Dad.com is a place to share ideas, activities and stories about being an active dad.
Jon hopes this website helps other dads embrace and celebrate their role of fatherhood. We encourage dads to be active, involved, integral and proud of it. Please get involved and share your ideas—it makes everyone a better dad.
